Walleye are one of the number one gamefish in the northern parts of North America. Wherever they are found they have a large following of anglers who are obsessed with fishing for them. These schooling predators can be taken on a variety of fishing methods. With a mouthful of rear-facing, hooked teeth, they are a menace to any baitfish in the lake. Known for having highly sensitive vision, they have the upper hand on their prey in low-light situations, especially dawn and dusk. While other fish’s eyes take time to adjust, walleye capitalize on this and become most active.
One of the most popular gamefish in North America, the Smallmouth Bass, is a hard-fighting, aggressive predator that establishes very easily and quickly wherever it is stocked. Much of the Eastern United States and Eastern Canada have healthy populations of Smallies. Whether you fly fish, chuck plastics, walk stickbaits, or crank lipped baits, smallies are eager biters and give all walks of life a fun day on the water.
Lame title I know. lol. This project showcases the four most popular geese available to us in North America. Specklebelly (White-Fronted) Goose, Greater Canada Goose, Snow Goose, and Lesser Canada Goose.
For those who are obsessed with goose hunting, they understand what it’s like to setup their spread in the wee hours of the morning. Trudging across a field, setting up their decoys, brushing their blinds, in hopes of a good shoot. When everything works out as planned, it’s hard to beat a great morning in the field. Whether you’re sky-busting snows or getting covered up by big Canadas, goose hunting gets the heart pumping. It’s a great way to bond with your comrades and do some team calling.
Although fly fishing is one of my favourite passions, hunting is a close second. Whether it’s wading in a swamp calling ducks or sitting in a tree stand waiting for a grey ghost to appear, hunting is one of my favourite ways to spend my time outdoors.
Arguably the meanest looking fish in freshwater, the African Goliath Tigerfish is menacing. With massive, interlocking teeth, these pursuit predators can reach impressive sizes! We had a client that runs a lodge who targets these fish, that wanted some custom work done. Intrigued by this I was very excited to get to work!
